Tony Gee Receives Gold Accreditation from Investors in People!
Tony Gee is delighted to receive a Gold accreditation from Investors in People in July following staff engagement surveys and employee interviews.
Central to the success of Tony Gee is the approach to developing its core asset, its people. Following a recent review of practices and amplifying employee voice through independent interviews by Investors in People, we are delighted to have maintained our Gold standard.
The Gold accreditation highlights that Tony Gee is committed to building and maintaining a highly engaged group of employees, working in a culture that provides them, and the business, with the best chance of success. Furthermore the accreditation means that Tony Gee has got the policies in place but more than that, it means everyone – from CEO to apprentice takes ownership for making them come to life.
Gareth Drought, HR Director, said of the award:
‘We know at Tony Gee that the best way to drive improvement is to continually challenge ourselves and hold a mirror up to our practices.
The Investors in People process allows us to do that so that we can fully understand how our business holds up to scrutiny, particularly when it comes to the one thing that makes our business special, our people.
We are delighted that our recent assessment continues our GOLD status with IIP. This is testament to all the work we do in driving the best possible workplace for all who work within it.
We are not complacent though and we will continue to listen, digest recommendations, and ask questions of all of us to drive ourselves forward.‘
Some quotes from the report by our people:
“We allow people to grow- that’s our pitch. We have really supportive leaders who have considered how work fits into life, we have robust L&D, we trust people and we have a balance of autonomy and support tailored to the individual”– Interviewee
“Great employer, helped by our ‘medium’ size; Tony Gee feels ambitious, and we feel confident for the business and ourselves”– Interviewee
More about Investors in People:
Investors in People have a purpose to make work better. Investors in People accreditation impacts communities of all shapes and sizes in more than fifty countries across six continents. Central to achieving this goal is their ‘We Invest in People’ accreditation and the ‘We Invest in People’ framework which measures how well organisations are doing at leading and supporting their staff; and the impact of change strategies and initiatives.
The framework comprises of nine indicators, highlighted as key areas for excellence in people management, so that organisations can understand their performance against the indicators and themes, and develop a clear roadmap for improvement. This approach is based on extensive research into the concepts of high-performance working and sets out the criteria for different levels of accreditation: Standard, Silver, Gold and Platinum. As part of the accreditation process, a dedicated, independent and experienced practitioner worked with Tony Gee and their key stakeholders to help broaden the organisational understanding around employee engagement. After an employee engagement survey and interviews with employees was conducted, Investors in People compiled a comprehensive report on the findings.
“Yours is a story of sustained development and improvement around clear strategic objectives. You now have a strong track record as a Gold performer, and we invite you to work with us on further developing your people practices with a view to demonstrating high performance at a Platinum level.” – Investors in People
