In order to sustain and develop our business, an investment in the future is crucial. We maintain long-standing relationships with academic institutions and schools in order to attract the best future engineers and support team.

A career in Civil Engineering is an exciting and dynamic one. Not many industries make such a tangible difference to our civilisation, and we need to ensure that we have the best talent to meet the ever-increasing demands of our society and the ever-changing face of our infrastructure needs.

We accept that bright minds choose different paths to prosperity and success. We maintain long-standing relationships with academic institutions and schools in order to attract the best future engineers’, whatever route through education they choose.

We advocate the provision of first-class training and comprehensive development programmes and so have two ways that you can kick-start your career with Tony Gee:

Undergraduate Internships & Scholarships

Tony Gee offers both summer and yearly internships to undergraduate students, primarily on Civil Engineering degree courses.

We endeavour to provide a rewarding yet challenging atmosphere so that skills learnt at university can be readily applied to real life situations. Everyone studying with us gets involved in actual projects, and work undertaken is always relevant to your studies

Tony Gee currently support over 40 students on scholarships. Scholarship students are expected to produce a yearly experience report and work for between eight to ten weeks each summer vacation, getting paid and accruing limited holiday entitlement along the way. These are typically arranged through either established academic schemes (universities) or
offered after completion of an internship.

Another feature of any student’s time with us is our desire to give students the opportunity to visit a variety of engineering projects in construction. In the UK, scholars are invited to an annual ‘student week’ where they attend a variety of engineering projects and research facilities to see engineering up close, as
well as to network with peers.

Our UK Apprenticeship Scheme

We have apprenticeship positions available across the business for creative, methodical school leavers who want to start a career in Civil Engineering Design. As well as a full-time design role within Tony Gee, you’ll start studying for a Level 3 Diploma in Civil Engineering at college for one day per week.

You can expect to be using your computer design skills on diverse projects and, as you become more proficient, you’ll find yourself steadily working your way up a career ladder with professional qualifications as a Civil Engineer.

Qualifications (UK)

To qualify for an apprenticeship with us, we’re looking for a keen interest in civil engineering design as well as good GSCE grades in maths and physics.

Tony Gee has been very active in the development of apprentices within Civil Engineering Design and are proud to participate in the Technician Apprentice Consortium.
