Detailed design of two substations, EV charging point foundations, cable routes and bus depot hardstanding reinstatement including two chargers hung from the workshop roof.

First Bus, Scotland’s largest bus operator, electrified half of its bus fleet operating from the Caledonia depot making it the largest EV charging hub in the UK.

Tony Gee was employed by Enerveo to design the civils aspects of the installation which involved two new substations, feeder pillars, cable routes across the bus depot hardstanding and EV charging point plinths. R J McCleod were selected to construct the works.

Part funded by the Scottish Ultra-Low Emission Bus Scheme with £28.2m and with additional investment of £35.6m by First Bus, the depot will have space to charge 300 buses from 162 Heliox charging points.
