Civil/ Structural Design Engineer – Kuala Lumpur

A Civil / Structural design engineer is required to join Tony Gee's growing team in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. An opportunity to join an established team with great career and professional development opportunities and support.

Job Summary

We are looking for ambitious candidates with an eye for detail with flexibility to work across infrastructure sectors. They will report directly to a Director and deliver projects to deadlines and budget.

Qualifications

• MEng or BEng in Civil or Structural Engineering

Essential

• You will be experienced in design of bridges or other heavy infrastructure
• Progression towards professional chartership
• Proven skills to lead projects and teams and be progressing to professional qualification
• Right to work in Malaysia

Desired

• Working towards Chartered Civil Engineer (CEng MICE or MIStructE) or with a relevant professional institution (ICE or IStructE)
• 2+ years experience
• Ability to work on own and within a team to meet project, client, company and personal objectives
• Experienced in structural design of temporary work
• Experienced in structural design of steelwork
• Experience with modern BIM standards

Core Responsibilities

• Prepare calculations, drawings and other documents and ensure these are controlled during the execution of projects under your control
• Prepare fee budgets, proposals and resource requirements for projects under your control
• Specify and manage site examination and investigation works in a safe and effective manner
• Identify and manage risks for the work under your control to agreed acceptable levels
• Co-ordinate with other engineers both in the regional offices and between Groups
• Manage production of BIM Models and drawing for the projects
• Support less experienced employees, sharing knowledge and acting as a coach or mentor
• Maintain client relationships through liaison on proposals and project work
• Develop innovative design solutions as part of the team
• Comply with the Company Health & Safety procedures, Quality Assurance/Environmental Management system procedures and documentation, CDM Regulations, and general legislation
