Carbon Management
Climate change is the defining challenge of our time. In 2024, the European Copernicus Climate Change Service confirmed a historic milestone: the first calendar year to exceed the 1.5°C global warming threshold. With the construction industry responsible for 39% of global carbon emissions, urgent and holistic environmental action is essential.
Tony Gee has set out a clear commitment to achieving net zero operational carbon emissions by 2045 or earlier. From achieving net zero and restoring air quality, to protecting biodiversity, these interconnected efforts must come together to improve quality of life and safeguard the planet for future generations.
Our Approach
Our engineering-led carbon reduction initiatives are integrated into both design and construction phases, developed in close collaboration with project teams. We take a proactive stance on minimising carbon use, while also advising on in-use savings and offsetting strategies.
Embedded Practices:
- Mandatory sustainability reviews built into our ISO 14001-certified Environmental Management System and ISO 9001-certified Quality Management System requirements
- Visual prompts and digital innovation tools to support decision-making
- A live Carbon Reduction Opportunities Catalogue (CROC), maintained by our Project Carbon Leads
- Mandatory carbon training for all project managers with wider training available across project teams
- Dedicated Carbon Specialist supporting project delivery, systems development, and innovation
- Flexible tools and approach to work with existing client and project processes and systems
What we offer
Through our PAS 2080:2023 certified carbon management system, we deliver fully integrated carbon management across every stage of project delivery. Our services are designed to embed sustainability throughout a project lifecycle, from concept to construction.

Built for Resilience
We have a dedicated sustainability team who bring extensive expertise in engineering delivery and carbon assessments, with a strong track record supporting major infrastructure projects. This is complimented by our extended network of trained staff, ensuring localised sustainability support across all project teams.
